Simone Lai

Sim’s first memories of yoga are being “babysat” by swamis at the local Ashram and going to classes her mother taught during school holidays. Over the last 16 years Sim has found Tapas in the form of consistently returning to the matt, her way to find peace, serenity and balance inspired by “Do your practice and all is coming”  from Sri†K. Pattabhi†Jois

“Each class and each teacher has brought something that helped me fill my toolbox of skills either physically or spiritually.  I believe you learn so much about yourself on the mat that you can take out into the world and that beneath the mind chatter and despite yourself, there is a natural rhythm that connects us to self and community.”

Sim’s teacher training at Sukha Mukha yoga under Idit Tamir and Katie Manitis reaffirmed to her to be committed yet unattached, to have fun in her asana practice, to not sweat the small stuff and to acknowledge the balance of sthira (strength) and sukha (sweetness) always. She has completed study under Donna Farhi and Jasmin Tarkeshe and is currently undertaking her 350 hour training

Sim hopes to help students stock up on their own skills for self realisation through a mindful, lighthearted, alignment focused and sometimes challenging practice drawing from her own experiences and love of yoga in it’s many forms.
